Chief Executive Officer, Marine Management Organisation to open Society & the Sea 2018: Investinblue – The Values of the Ocean and Coasts for Sustainable Development (6-7 September)
National Maritime in partnership with the Greenwich Maritime Centre (GMC) is convening its second international conference on the theme ‘Society and the Sea‘ bringing together industry and academia to explore the value of the ocean, key challenges being faced, and opportunities for future development of the blue economy. John Tuckett, CEO of the MMO will open the two day conference on the 6th September 2018 to be held at Maritime Greenwich.
The conference programme will include 120 presentations across 6 stages and four Investinblue sessions 1) Investing in globally competitive shipbuilding & ship repairers 2) The Value of Maritime Heritage to the Blue Economy 3) Investing in the UK Maritime sector – The how, what, why and where to invest? 4) Ports and terminals and their commitment to infrastructure investment. The conference will also host the launch of the new MARINE SOCIAL SCIENCES NETWORK. A conference dinner will be held at the Cutty Sark on the evening of the 6th .
