Covid-19 and its impact on trade in Developing countries

Event Date:
Start at 3:00 PM
June 11, 2020

Join us for a webinar event as we explore the repercussions and impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on global trade, focusing mainly on the challenges facing the Least Developed Countries (LDCs). The discussion will also touch on how this may affect trade opportunities for the UK and economic recovery looking further ahead.

According to a recent report by the Overseas Development Institute, the adverse trade effects of Covid-19 are likely to be more severe than those of the global financial crisis of 2008–2009.

In this Webinar, we will hear from Simiso Velempini, CEO of Africa Matters, and Jodie Keane, Senior Research Fellow at the Overseas Development Institute as they share their perspectives and also any insights on protecting and supporting the economic recovery of trade in developing countries looking at the post-Covid-19 era.
