Foreshore Skills Days

What's it about?

Develop your archaeological skills under the guidance of an experienced archaeologist and work on a real archaeological site. The course will take place on Minesweeper hulk. On the first day, learn how to sketch the site and record the archaeology through photography and video and then discover how to share your exciting discoveries with the world. On the second day, build on your existing skills and learn new techniques including basic site analysis, 2D survey and what to do with small finds.

This is a practical, two-day, non-diving course that will take place on the foreshore in areas that might be soft and muddy underfoot.

Who's it for?

The course is aimed at divers and non-divers who want to develop their practical skills in recording archaeological sites. While this course will be working on a hulk on the foreshore, divers will find it useful to practice their skills above the water.

You must have completed your eLearning theory before attending this practical course.

Members will achieve their FOUNDATION QUALIFICATION after completing this course and the eLearning.
