Grand Maritime Charity Ball 2024

2024 sees the RNLI celebrate 200 years of saving lives at sea.

To commemorate this milestone, we are delighted to announce that we are to host a 200th Anniversary Grand Maritime Charity Ball, a black-tie event fundraising for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution onboard, Silver Sturgeon, the 61m flagship of Woods’ Silver Fleet.

Embarking from Greenwich Pier on the 9th of September 2024, join us onboard for an evening of elegance and generosity that will unite the UK maritime sector to help raise funds for the RNLI and honour those brave volunteers, who have been saving lives at sea since 1824. Funds raised will enable the RNLI to ensure that all volunteers receive the best equipment and training to continue their invaluable work.

The SOCSEA Grand Maritime Charity Ball is the official dinner of the 4th Society and The Sea international conference delivered by National Maritime and the University of Greenwich, held at Greenwich Maritime on the 9th and 10th of September 2024.

The theme of SOCSEA24 is ‘To be truly blue, we must also think green’.

Continuing the theme of this two-day conference into the evening’s event, tickets for the charity event will include a Kent Sparkling Wine reception, a three-course dinner and matched wines that celebrate the best of British ingredients from UK sustainably farmed fields and coastlines.

The SOCSEA 2024 menu will be created by Executive Head Chef, Marcus Cunningham, whose experience spans The Waterside Inn, Bray to the Royal Household. The SOCSEA Ball 2024 will also feature live music entertainment and the opportunity to participate in the silent auction, which will contribute to the cause most meaningfully. You are not required to attend the conference to attend the Grand Maritime Charity Ball, although we of course recommend it.

The SOCSEA Grand Maritime Charity Ball offers various levels of sponsorship opportunities for businesses. Sponsorship is not just about supporting a single event; it’s about making a significant difference to lifesaving efforts at sea. Each contribution helps to equip the volunteer crew with the best tools and training, ensuring they can carry out their duties safely and effectively.

By sponsoring this event, people will be directly contributing to the vital work of the RNLI, helping to save lives and create safer communities, while increasing their own brand visibility and demonstrating commitment to social responsibility.
