NAS Recorder and Surveyor Days introduce maritime archaeology fieldwork basics such as: site sketching, photography and video, 2D survey, what to do with small finds and how to report your exciting discoveries. Complete the essential training you began with your eLearning courses at these practical Skills Days.
Who’s it for?
The course is aimed at divers who want to ‘dive with a purpose’ and learn how to develop their practical skills in recording and surveying archaeological sites.
This is a two-day, underwater diving course and participants are required to have a minimum BSAC Sports Diver, PADI Advanced Open Water or equivalent diving qualification. You should have completed at least five dives in UK waters in the last year.
This two-day practical underwater archaeology course costs £150 for NAS members (does not include entry fee for Vobster or air fills) and the related online theory costs £85. Sign up for the Underwater Combined online theory here.
Upon completion of the three day practical course and online theory courses, participants will receive the NAS FOUNDATION QUALIFICATION.
