Home Shipbuilding Credit Guarantee Scheme – Seeking views from Vessel operators & buyers, UK Shipyards, Lenders & Brokers

Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) have announced a further survey to assist the UK Government’s research into what other financing options exist in the ship building market.

As part of our continued efforts to support UK shipbuilding and the wider maritime SME supply chain we are encouraging all relevant National Maritime partners to respond to the survey before the 14th February deadline.

The Home Shipbuilding Credit Guarantee Scheme (HSCGS) will be a UK government backed guarantee at a market-oriented price for the purchase of UK ships by UK buyers. Stakeholders are being invited to complete this survey to assist the UK Government’s research into what other financing options exist in the ship building market, where there may be a market gap and demand for a UK Government guarantee scheme.  

They are seeking views and information from four key stakeholder groups:

Vessel operators and buyers
UK Shipyards
Lenders
Brokers
