Great to see these plans for a maritime hub emerge on the Wirral to ‘preserve, enhance and support the regeneration of the historic Rock Ferry waterfront’.
The planned Hub would feature:
-Repair facilities for classic wooden boats as well as GRP and steel boats.
-A community sports centre with laundry, Wi-Fi, changing rooms & conference facilities
-Moorings in the river Mersey and a 24/7 deep water marina with circa 100 berths
-A public slipway for both commercial and leisure users wanting to access the river
The regeneration involves dealing with:-
-The remediation of the contaminated Vestor oil site -The repair and upgrade of the grade-2 listed slipway -The repair/demolition of the derelict and dilapidated pier
