Game On: Explore the Commonwealth

With one year to go until the Commonwealth Games 2022 register now for this great opportunity for experienced Midlands exporters to discuss the prospects for their products or services with DIT trade advisers and overseas delivery partners in 50+ markets across the Commonwealth.

Today’s 54 Commonwealth countries account for over 17% of world GDP in Purchasing Power Parity and contain 2.4 billion of the world’s 7½ billion people. Moreover, many Commonwealth countries have favourable demographics compared with several major European countries, where working populations are expected to age and shrink.

Even without any formal arrangements, trading between Commonwealth countries is 19% cheaper than with non-members. Massive costs cuts come from shared history, cultural links, common legal systems, business practices, and a common language between many Commonwealth countries. This is also known as ‘the Commonwealth advantage’.

How to book?

This is a dedicated platform which allows you to request and accept 1-2-1 meetings.

You can find brief market profiles for most markets on the Commonwealth Markets tab of this website - please at least read this prior to your meeting. The more advance research you do, the more useful your meeting will be.

Please look at Advisers job title not just their location as several advisers cover whole regions or sub regions of the Commonwealth e.g. sub-Saharan Africa is covered from South Africa, Nigeria and Kenya and the whole of the Caribbean from Mexico or UK.

Please read the adviser profiles carefully and only request meetings with advisers covering your sector (or all sectors). Please be as explicit as you can be about what sort of advice or help you need. You may also be asked for supplementary information - please respond promptly.

Please note: each Midlands Supplier is allowed a maximum of 12 1-1 meetings.
