The Nautical Archaeology Society (NAS) is delighted to announce that Peter Green has joined the Board of Trustees, bringing his unique depth of experience of the maritime world and its key industries to enhance our planning and strategy going forward.

Peter Green is the CEO at National Maritime, a business engagement group with the UK’s largest networking group for SMEs in the maritime sector. He promotes the interests of maritime businesses at the top level, informing and influencing central and local government’s approach to business support strategies and policies. He has strong skills in senior stakeholder management between government and business and has significant experience leading partnership functions in public and private sector environments. With a proven track record of developing and sustaining social enterprises and managing change, his skills are invaluable in developing greater awareness and understanding of national, regional, and sub-regional working frameworks.
Tim Parker, Chair of the NAS said, “Peter’s wide-ranging skills in delivering results, growth and innovation management, partnership development, networking and community development will significantly strengthen the breadth and depth of skills our Trustees provide in steering the Society at this important stage in its development, as we move forward from the pandemic”.
NAS CEO Mark Beattie Edwards added, “Peter’s passion for Maritime is infectious; as an accomplished open water swimmer, he has successfully swum the English Channel and completed a two-way swim of Lake Windermere. We’re looking forward to his fresh pair of eyes and thinking in our work as well as his experience of dealing with coastal and estuarine enterprises”.
